I thought the same thing (that it was toast) the first winter I had it in my garden. It turns brown, and you think it is an annual, but it comes back in the spring bigger and stronger than ever. I love the yellow, trailing Lantana and when you put it with this plant, the purple and the yellow is just breathtaking. I had two of them, and created a ton more from clippings, and then I put them outside a little to early and frost killed them all. But then months later, I found a little piece that broke off and rooted in the ground, so I dug it up and repotted it inside.
