Plants
Here's the newest addition to my hangy-down thingamaboppers that decorate our front porch. Hubby bought it for me, isn't he cute?
This is a plant I remember from my childhood at my grandmother's house. It gets a beautiful purple color (see next picture) if it has more room to grow. I swiped a piece of this from my mother-in-law's house when we first moved here. Last year, a piece broke off while we were mowing and I just left it where it fell.
It took over the yard (again, see picture below)! It died off during the winter, and I thought that was toast....nope...it's unstoppable. Like Batman...can't wait...we're going to see it this weekend! But I digress.....
Here's the little piece that could.....
Purple (Heart) Jew
Ya don't even have to water it much.

I love that type of plant. I had two of them, and created a ton more from clippings, and then I put them outside a little to early and frost killed them all. But then months later, I found a little piece that broke off and rooted in the ground, so I dug it up and repotted it inside. I've got a good sized plant from it now.
I am old freinds with this plant. I love the yellow, trailing Lantana and when you put it with this plant, the purple and the yellow is just breathtaking. All I add is some pretty gray rocks.
You are right! I thought the same thing (that it was toast) the first winter I had it in my garden. It turns brown, and you think it is an annual, but it comes back in the spring bigger and stronger than ever. I love it--because the hot summers down here don't faze it.
