Under the Weather
I wonder where that phrase came from (Grandpa W?)? Sorry I've been spotty here lately. I haven't been feeling myself since last Thursday, but I think I'm on the rebound, so we should be back to our regularly scheduled program soon.
I will keep you company. Someone is sure to bring us tea and sympathy. I am a little under the weather myself. : ) Hpoe you feel better soon.
This expression comes from the idea that bad weather might hurt a person's health and mood. The saying also may be related to "under the weather bow," the part of a boat that will take the force of rough seas during stormy weather. If you were in that part of the boat, you might get seasick!

How neat, I never knew why we said it, we just did! I have felt yucky today, too. I've got the tea, guess I just need the sympathy!
