Juice or No Juice?

A few years into our marriage, my husband asked me one evening why I emptied most of the juice out of the can before I cooked the vegetables. Wha??? What other way is there, I'm thinking??.....I do everything right. Then it occured to me....well, because that's what my mom always did, that's why!

His mom doesn't do that. She leaves the juice in, and boils them in it. Ok. What's different isn't necessarily wrong, right? So, when I cook his vegetables, I leave the juice in.

When I cook mine, I drain most of the juice out.So, let's have a vote! What do you do? Scroll down to the bottom of the page and cast your ballot!

That's just how it is!
If we are raised a certain way that is right for us.
I leave the juice in and that is how I learned.
No right or wrong in this instance! :)

Out of curiosity, after removing the juice, what did you add to the vegetables before cooking? Oil? Liquid?

Hey Potatochiplover! Welcome....well, I don't pour *all* the juice out. If I'm making two cans, I will pour one can of juice out, and then 1/2 of the other one. I'm just weird that way. I like dry things. I like the end of the bread, extra done things, etc. My mom used to replace the juice she poured out with butter, but in the world of trying to be health-conscious I don't. I do if we're having company or it's Thanksgiving, though! hee hee
Do you have a blog I could visit to return the favor?

My mother does the same thing, addding butter to canned vegetables especially corn for Thanksgiving. I admit I use butter in cooking, too but only rarely.
I have no blog of mine. I suspect anyone reading my blog would die from the joy of boredom.
